Day 1: Nairobi National Park - Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage - Langata Giraffe Centre - Karen Blixen’s Museum

This itinerary will give you the opportunity to view all of the 'big five' within only 20 minutes drive of your Nairobi hotel! This itinerary takes advantage of the best game viewing time in the Nairobi National Park and gives you other amazing close-up animal and cultural experiences.

Depart your hotel at 06:00, arriving at the Nairobi National Park at 06:30 for an early morning game drive. We then leave the park at 10:30 to visit the baby elephants at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage during feeding time. This is a great opportunity to get up close and learn about the success the Sheldrick's are having raring these orphans and reintroducing them into the wild.

We then proceed to the Langata Giraffe Centre. Once almost extinct, you can hand feed the endangered Rothschild giraffes. There is also an education centre with lots of information about breeding and preserving these gentle giants. Your guide can even take you for a walk through the bush to find Jock - he can be surprisingly hard to spot even though he is six metres tall. Around 15:00 we will proceed to Karen Blixen's colonial house, which is now a museum. We will leave to return to your hotel by 17:00.
