Balloon Safari

While on safari in the Masai Mara or Serengeti..

Your sound sleep will be interrupted around 5am, when you will be collected from your lodge or camp and driven to the balloon launch site.

After your briefing, you can watch the inflation of your balloon. Then you are loaded aboard, for take off at around 6:15am. The balloon takes off and rises into the early morning sky as the sun is rising on the horizon. Soon you will be high in the air drifting over the savannah and feel a million miles from the world that you know.

Once in the air the pilot can control the altitude but the balloon will travel in whichever direction the morning breeze carries it. Sometimes you will be hundreds of metres in the air and other times floating silently above the canopy of the trees.

On landing, the crew will help the thud back to earth with a beautiful champagne breakfast prepared in the bush. You might be surprised to see chairs, tables, glassware and silver cutlery in the middle of the savannah!

You will then be returned to your safari group.

The balloon safari including breakfast lasts around three hours, including approximately one hour flying time.

warm fleece for cool mornings, camera, binoculars.

Restrictions
Masai Mara: children under 5 years are not permitted to fly. All
children over 5 years, fly at the discretion of the pilot on the day.
Serengeti: children under 7 years are not permitted to fly. All
children over 7 years, fly at the discretion of the pilot on the day.

For safety reasons, balloons may not fly if the weather conditions
are not favourable. If the balloon company does cancel your flight, you will be offered 100% refund (although this refund may be subjected to
deductions by your agent depending on your payment method).
