Lake Bogoria Not far north of Lake Nakuru is Lake Bogoria - popular for its spewing geysers and flamingos. Lake Bogoria is a shallow soda lake and around the 1990’s it was thought that there might be as many as two million birds living on the lake, but in reality there may be quite a few less now due to drought. There is a picnic site in the middle of the park which is the main stopping point to see some great views and larger geysers. These geysers can be found all along the road through the park and make for some interesting walking and photographs. Animals that can be seen in the park include around 375 bird species. In the wooded area south of the lake you can see klipspringers, gazelles, caracals, buffalo, greater kudu and if you are lucky, you might spot a leopard. If travelling independently, this park makes an easy day trip from Nakuru town.
