Laikipia plateau is not unlike Lewa wildlife conservancy,
being that not all ranches permit using your own vehicle for game driving. The norm is an accommodation package that includes game drives. This huge expanse of wilderness is wonderful as you get the feeling you are miles from anywhere and often the game viewing is more adventurous.

The area boasts significant populations of all the big five and some ranches breed rhino. It’s also a sanctuary to 50% of Kenya’s black and white rhino, Also found in this area are large quantities of plains game, Elephant, buffalo, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra and gerenuk. It also has a small population of wild dogs, not found in many other places in Kenya.
